Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist and currently fights within the UFC flyweight division. Shevchenko is the younger sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champion as well as the other UFC competitor Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko's fight sport career started with her debut as a Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and later defeated Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina took home a trophy of silver in 2007, a medal that was bronze in 2008 as well as a medal gold in 2011. In addition, she was named IFMA Amateur Muaythai World Champ in 2016. Antonia was first introduced to the professional world in with her debut in 2003. Antonina Shychenko's first professional MMA debut took place in 2002 at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan when she faced Anara Bayanova. She took the win with a TKO after the first and went on to win her 2 next fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. It gave her a 3-0 MMA record. Shevchenko took a short break from MMA and focused on her kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback at the end of 2017 in a fight with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa through a unanimous decision followed by a win over Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She quit the club in 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina TKO'd Nievera with her superior striking abilities when she clinched by knees to body. The result was that Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina took part in her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, to be fought by Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modafferi in a split-decision fight. She won the initial fight by unanimous decision. Antonina came back from losing after defeating Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. She was awarded the fight-of-the-night bonus. Shevchenko went 1-2 during her subsequent three bouts, beating Ariane Lipski, and then falling to Katlyn Chookagian and Andrea Lee.
