Kim Delaney was an American actress. The actress is best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she won an Emmy Award. She is also known for her role on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. As the sole daughter of a high-ranking executive in the United Auto Workers and a household worker, Delaney was raised with four brothers. Though she had a aspiration to become journalist, it wasn't until high school that Delaney began to model. After moving from New York City and gaining experience in commercials in New York did she achieve the career as aspiring court reporters. In 1981, she appeared as an innocent teen in All My Children. Delaney is a well-known actress, appearing in many films, television dramas, and TV films. Her professional career has been more successful than her private life. The accomplished actor has been battling alcoholism and she has experienced two divorces. In 2005, the actress was denied custody over her one son.
