Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her professional moniker Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In the month of October Ari Lennox debuted her debut EP Pho. This was the moment that she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded her music on the internet in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013 five Finger Discount. In 2014, she continued to release her music on the web, including her own released single Bound. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21 2015. Later that year her music began to circulate all over the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some potential references to Rihanna. Then, in December of 2008 it was announced that Rihanna had hired to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In October 21st, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she went on to appear on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video later released in September. She released her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. On November 13 she then dropped two singles titled The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this single as a way to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was made available with a video uploaded to YouTube February 20, 2019 was watched more than three million times over the first seven days. As a support act, she toured together with 6LACK in December 2018 on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
