Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory was of discovering an attic piano and being awed by the sound it could make. Parents May-Britt along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for a profession or a pastime, but as a way to develop. She began writing songs of her own. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favourite songwriters. Her mom encouraged her to play her songs in public, not so that she could achieve fame, but rather to help others realize that they matter and how they can make a difference for humanity. The mother of her child suggested that she sing her songs in public to help people realize their importance and the ways they can affect the world. She didn't tell her family about her music until she reached fourteen. Aurora has never imagined being famous. She claims that she enjoys creating songs. The songs she creates are her way of feeling any thing.
